A throwing error by Bobby Knoop paved the way for two unearned runs in the seventh inning and allowed the White Sox to defeat the Royals, 2-1. With runners on first and third and two out, Tom Egan grounded to Knoop, who threw low to second as Rick Reichardt crossed the plate with the tying run. Bill Butler then walked both Rich Morales and Mike Andrews to force in Carlos May with the winning run for the White Sox. [The Sporting News]
