Pat Dobson, the Orioles' most effective pitcher in the club's slump, allowed only five hits and beat the Tigers, 8-1. The Orioles had won only three of their last 10 games, with Dobson accounting for two of the victories. Paul Blair drove in four runs with a pair of doubles and Merv Rettenmund homered.
