A two-run homer by Ken McMullen and two-run pinch-single by Ken Berry in the eighth inning brought the Angels a 7-5 victory over the Twins. The Angels were trailing, 5-3, when John Stephenson doubled to start the rally and McMullen tied the score with his homer.

Tony Conigliaro and Sandy Alomar followed with singles, but Conigliaro was thrown out trying to score on a pinch-single by Billy Cowan. Alomar and Cowan advanced on the play at the plate and both then scored when Berry rapped his single, batting for Mickey Rivers. [The Sporting News]
