Two doubles by Billy Cowan were the Angels' key hits in a 3-1 victory over the Twins. Cowan hit his first double of the game in second inning and scored on a single by Ken McMullen.

After the Twins picked up an unearned run in the fourth, the game stayed deadlocked until the eighth when Sandy Alomar singled and, after two out, counted on Cowan's second double. Mickey Rivers ran for Cowan and added an extra run on a single by Jim Spencer. [The Sporting News]
