. . . where the 1970s live forever!

With a helping hand from Dave Giusti, Bruce Kison gained his first major league victory when the Pirates defeated the Reds, 7-1. Kison, a 21-year-old righthander, held the Reds scoreless until the eighth inning when two-out singles by Pete Rose and George Foster and walks to Lee May and Tony Perez forced in the Reds' run.

Giusti retired Bernie Carbo on a grounder and set down the Reds in the ninth. Bob Robertson hit a two-run homer for the Pirates and Roberto Clemente drove in four runs with a single, double and two infield grounders. [The Sporting News]
