Taking advantage of two errors, the Brewers scored a pair of unearned runs in the third inning and beat the Royals, 2-1. Ellie Rodriguez was safe on a boot by Freddie Patek to open the stanza and when Marcelino Lopez bunted, Paul Splittorff threw wildly to second base, Rodriguez advancing to third and Lopez taking second on the error.
