After 13 straight batters had been retired, the Senators erupted for six runs in the sixth inning and defeated the White Sox, 8-3. Dave Nelson homered in the first when the Senators scored twice, but Wilbur Wood then mowed them down until kayoed by four straight hits in the sixth. Nelson capped the outburst, driving in the last two runs with a single. [The Sporting News]
