After 13 straight batters had been retired, the Senators erupted for six runs in the sixth inning and defeated the White Sox, 8-3. Dave Nelson homered in the first when the Senators scored twice, but Wilbur Wood then mowed them down until kayoed by four straight hits in the sixth.
