The White Sox combined a two-run homer by Bill Melton and the five-hit hurling of Tommy John to defeat the Senators, 2-0. Melton's homer followed a triple by Pat Kelly in the sixth inning and beat Pete Broberg, the Senators' rookie from Dartmouth. [The Sporting News]
