Deciding a pitchers' duel, Bob Robertson homered in the eighth inning to give the Pirates a 2-1 victory over the Padres. The Pirates scored their initial run off Steve Arlin in the first on a single by Bill Mazeroski, forceout by Vic Davalillo and singles by Al Oliver and Richie Hebner. Nate Colbert tied the game with a homer off Bob Johnson in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
