Capping the sweep with a one-hitter by Luke Walker, the Pirates extended their winning streak to 11 games by defeating the Dodgers in a doubleheader, 3-2 and 7-1. The Pirates' first two runs in the opener were unearned on an error by Dick Allen, but Allen made amends by hitting a homer in the ninth inning to tie the score at 2-2. In the Pirates' half, Gene Alley tripled and scored the winning run by beating the throw home on a high hopper by Gene Clines.
