. . . where the 1970s live forever!

With last-out help from Rollie Fingers, Chuck Dobson gained his ninth straight victory when the Athletics defeated the Indians, 6-3. Dobson hit a sacrifice fly to drive in one of the A's three runs in the second inning. Dobson also singled and scored in the fourth when the A's added two tallies.

Mike Epstein homered for their final run in the seventh. The Indians threatened in the ninth when Kurt Bevacqua and Gomer Hodge hit singles, but Fingers retired Chuck Hinton for the final out. [The Sporting News]
