The wildness of Ernie McAnally enabled the Astros to score four runs in the first inning en route to an 8-2 victory over the Expos. McAnally walked four batters to force in the first run and then, with two out, Jesus Alou cleared the bases with a double.

McAnally allowed only one more hit before going out for a pinch-batter in the seventh. The Astros fell on Claude Raymond for four extra runs in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
