. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Royals knocked out Sam McDowell with a three-run outburst in the fifth inning and defeated the Indians, 6-4. A walk to Gail Hopkins and double by Jerry May produced the first run. After a pass to Chuck Harrison and safe bunt by Freddie Patek, Paul Schaal hit a sacrifice fly.

Amos Otis walked to reload the sacks and Cookie Rojas singled to drive in another run. The Royals picked up another counter in the sixth and capped their scoring with a homer by Otis in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
