A poor throw to the plate in the 13th inning enabled the Dodgers to score a run for a 2-1 victory over the Braves. Jim Lefebvre homered for the Dodgers in the fifth and Hank Aaron tied the score with a homer for the Braves in the sixth.

Tom Haller walked as a Dodger pinch-hitter in the 12th and gave way to Bill Russell. Duke Sims also drew a pass. After a sacrifice by Manny Mota, Maury Wills grounded to Felix Millan, whose throw home bounced in front of the plate and skidded past catcher Earl Williams, allowing Russell to score the winning run.
