Harmon Killebrew, who had been in a slugging slump, hit his first homer since June 22 as the Twins exploded for five runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Red Sox, 6-2. Stan Williams, the winner in relief of Bert Blyleven, walked to start the outburst and Cesar Tovar, Rod Carew and Tony Oliva followed with singles to produce two runs.
