After letting victory slip away in the 10th inning, the Astros came back with three runs in the 15th to defeat the Phillies, 7-4. In the 10th, Cesar Cedeno batted in Joe Morgan with a double and scored himself on a single by Doug Rader to put the Astros ahead, 4-2, but a homer by Willie Montanez, his second of the game, and a pass to Ron Stone with the bases loaded produced the tying pair for the Phillies in their half.

Two were out in the 15th when Cedeno singled and reached third on Stone's muff of a pickoff throw by Darrell Brandon. Rader followed with a tie-breaking double. Denis Menke then walked and Jesus Alou drove in two extra runs with a double. [The Sporting News]
