The Mets rallied for two runs in the ninth inning and defeated the Cardinals, 3-2. Tommie Agee singled and took third on a one-out single by Cleon Jones

 Don Hahn ran for Agee, who bruised his knee sliding, and scored the tying run on a single by Ed Kranepool. After Dave Marshall went out, Duffy Dyer lifted a pop fly that fell safe down the right field line and Jones scored from second base with the winning run. [The Sporting News]
