Bill Gogolewski and Joe Grzenda combined on a four-hitter and pitched the Senators to a 7-1 victory over the Twins. Gogolewski allowed only one hit before rain forced a 26-minute delay in the seventh inning.

The Twins then scored their run on a walk to Harmon Killebrew and one-out singles by Rich Reese and Leo Cardenas. Grzenda struck out two batters to end the inning and gave up just one the hit rest of the way. The Senators' scoring included a two-run double by Frank Howard. [The Sporting News]
