Homers by Bob Robertson and Gene Clines provided the dynamite as the Pirates exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Dodgers, 8-5. The Dodgers were leading, 4-1, before Manny Sanguillen doubled in the sixth and Robertson hit his homer.

After singles by Jackie Hernandez, Dave Cash and Vic Davalillo added another run, Clines hit his first major league homer to put the Pirates ahead. Willie Stargell also got into the slugging act with his 33rd homer of the season for the Pirates' final run in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
