| Coming through with his finest performance since 1967, Jim Lonborg yielded only three singles and pitched the Red Sox to a 5-0 victory over the White Sox. Lonborg won 22 games in '67 and was voted the Cy Young award, but he suffered a damaging injury to his left knee in a skiing accident that winter.
