The Yankees exploded for eight runs in the second inning and defeated the Indians, 8-1, behind the five-hit hurling of Mike Kekich. Fourteen men went to the plate in the Yankees' biggest scoring stanza since August 12, 1969, when they also pushed across eight runs against the Twins.
