The Indians ended their six-game losing streak by defeating the Senators, 7-1. Vince Colbert, a graduate of the high school across the street from RFK Stadium, was the winner, pitching eight innings and allowing only six hits. The Indians put the game away with five runs in a fifth-inning outburst that included doubles by Ted Uhlaender, Vada Pinson, Chris Chambliss and Frank Baker. [The Sporting News]
