A triple by Cito Gaston and single by Ollie Brown in the eighth inning supplied the run that enabled Dave Roberts to pitch the Padres to a 4-3 victory over the Astros. Roberts singled and scored the Padres' first run on a sacrifice and single by Gaston in the third. Ed Spiezio hit a two-run homer in the fourth.
