Homers by Jim Spencer and Roger Repoz, good for three runs in the eighth inning, enabled the Angels to defeat the Yankees, 7-6. Spencer's homer broke a 4-4 tie. Jim Fregosi followed with a single to kayo Stan Bahnsen.

After Lindy McDaniel relieved, Repoz rapped his round-tripper. The Yankees rallied for two runs in their half on a double by Roy White, triple by Danny Cater and an infield out, but Lloyd Allen saved the game for Clyde Wright. [The Sporting News]
