Gil Garrido, playing second base in place of Felix Millan, drove in four runs to lead the Braves to a 9-3 victory over the Cardinals. Although rapping Tom Kelley for 11 hits and drawing seven walks in seven innings, the Cardinals could score only three runs.

The Braves broke a 3-3 tie with five runs in the eighth inning. Sonny Jackson, Ralph Garr and Hank Aaron singled for the go-ahead tally. After two walks forced in another run, Garrido cleared the sacks with a double. [The Sporting News]
