The Orioles came to life in the last three innings and scored seven runs to defeat the Twins, 9-6. Don Buford homered for the Orioles in the third, but the Twins held a 5-2 lead going into the seventh when Boog Powell hit for the circuit with two men on base to tie the score.

After the Twins regained the lead in their half, the Orioles forged ahead in the eighth with two runs on a pass to Buford, double by Frank Robinson and single by Brooks Robinson. Merv Rettenmund iced the decision with a two-run double in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
