A single by Jim Northrup with the bases loaded in the seventh inning drove in two runs and gave the Tigers a 2-1 victory over the Brewers. Skip Lockwood, pitching for the Brewers, staked himself to a 1-0 lead with a homer in the third before the Tigers beat him in the seventh on Northrup's hit after Gates Brown and Willie Horton singled and Bill Freehan walked to load the bases.
