Alan Foster, who allowed only three hits in 5 2/3 innings of relief work, gained credit for the victory when the Indians defeated the White Sox, 6-2. Foster took over for Mike Paul after the White Sox had scored both their runs with one out in the fourth. Kurt Bevacqua hit his first major league homer to mark the Indians' attack on Wilbur Wood.
