Back from the disabled list, Dave McNally made his first appearance since July 9 and gained the victory when the Orioles walloped the White Sox, 12-1. McNally worked six innings and allowed three hits before surrendering the mound to Dave Leonhard.

Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson and Paul Blair drove in three runs apiece. Frank Robinson's RBIs came on the 494th homer of his career. The blow elevated the Orioles' veteran slugger to 11th place on the major league list of home-run hitters. [The Sporting News]
