On Friday the 13th, the Dodgers gained their 13th shutout victory of the season, beating the Expos, 2-0, behind the six-hit pitching of Don Sutton. The Dodgers scored both their runs in the fifth inning.

Willie Crawford beat out an infield hit, took second on a sacrifice and counted on a double by Tom Haller. Bobby Valentine singled, Haller stopped at third and then scored when Sutton forced Valentine. [The Sporting News]
