A single by Jim Wynn with two out in the eighth inning drove in two runs and brought the Astros a 5-4 victory over the Braves. Doug Rader hit a two-run homer for the Astros in the second, but round-trippers by Hank Aaron and Earl Williams helped the Braves forge ahead, 4-2.

The first of two doubles by Denis Menke led to an Astro tally that narrowed the gap in the seventh. Bob Watson singled in the eighth, Menke hit his second double and Wynn then singled to drive in the tying and winning runs. [The Sporting News]
