A two-run single by Nate Colbert in the first game and three-run homer by Larry Stahl in the second game were the decisive blows as the Padres swept over the Phillies in a doubleheader, 5-4 and 3-2. With the Phillies ahead in the opener, 4-3, Enzo Hernandez and Angel Bravo drew walks in the ninth inning and Cito Gaston beat out an infield hit before Colbert came to the plate and singled to drive in the tying and winning runs.
