The Red Sox snapped their seven-game losing streak when Billy Conigliaro broke out of a slugging slump with his first homer since June 9, connecting with two men on base in the ninth inning, to beat the Angels, 6-5.

Joe Lahoud and George Scott homered in the seventh, Scott's blow coming with a man on base, to give the Red Sox a 3-1 lead, but the Angels scored four runs in the eighth with the help of an error and a wild pitch. However, Rico Petrocelli and Scott singled in the ninth and Conigliaro followed with his winning homer. [The Sporting News]
