Fergie Jenkins allowed only two hits and pitched the Cubs past the Braves, 3-0, for his 19th victory of the season. Jenkins had a slim 1-0 margin in a duel with Tom Kelley until he clinched his own decision by driving in two runs with a double in the ninth inning.

The Cubs' first run counted in the third on a double by Glenn Beckert and single by Billy Wiliams. Hank Aaron went hitless against Jenkins in three trips, ending his 22-game batting streak. [The Sporting News]
