A homer by Vada Pinson in the eighth inning enabled the Indians to defeat the Twins, 3-2. Pinson also drove in the Tribe's first run with a sacrifice fly in the third following a triple by Ted Uhlaender. Singles by Eddie Leon and Fred Stanley, around a sacrifice, added a run in the fourth before the Twins picked up their pair in the fifth when Cesar Tovar doubled with the bases loaded.
