Steve Huntz hammered two homers in the first game and Walt Williams and Mike Andrews hit for the circuit in the second game to power the White Sox to a sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the Tigers, 6-5 and 4-1. The Tigers built up a 5-0 lead in the lidlifter before the White Sox came back with a pair in the third. Huntz hit his first homer of the game in the sixth. Then, in the eighth, after Bill Melton and Rick Reichardt singled, Huntz homered again to turn back Mickey Lolich's bid for his 20th victory.

In the nightcap, Williams rapped his round-tripper in the fourth inning. After Huntz doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, Jay Johnstone walked in the eighth and Andrews hit his homer. [The Sporting News]
