. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Homers by Pat Kelly, Carlos May and Mike Andrews, plus the relief help of Bart Johnson, enabled Wilbur Wood to gain his 17th victory as the White Sox defeated the Indians, 5-3. Wood gave up a homer by Roy Foster in the second inning and then was lifted in the sixth when the Indians scored their two other runs on singles by Kurt Bevacqua, Ted Uhlaender, Ray Fosse and Graig Nettles. Johnson allowed only one hit in the last 3 2/3 innings. [The Sporting News]
