The Orioles hit four homers and beat the Twins, 6-3, to give Dave McNally credit for his 15th victory. Don Buford started the Orioles' slugging in the fifth inning to snap a 1-1 tie.

Davey Johnson homered in the sixth, Paul Blair connected with a man on base in the seventh and Andy Etchebarren added a circuit clout in the eighth. McNally was 
lifted after Rod Carew slammed a two-run shot in the Twins' half of the eighth and Eddie Watt finished. [The Sporting News]
