Lee May, who collected two homers and two singles, batted in five runs to supply the Reds' principal power in a 9-4 victory over the Cubs. Tony Perez and Tommy Helms also hit homers. Ross Grimsley shut out the Cubs until the eighth inning when they erupted for all their runs, two scoring on a circuit clout by Johnny Callison. [The Sporting News]
