. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Tigers spoiled Rich Hinton's first major league start, scoring three runs off the rookie in the third inning to defeat the White Sox, 4-2. Tony Taylor singled to drive in the first run and the second scored on a wild throw by Carlos May. However, this run became earned when Al Kaline singled, scoring Taylor. Hinton then hit Willie Horton with a pitch on the left eye before being removed. Horton had to be taken to the hospital. [The Sporting News]
