With Reggie Smith providing the principal batting support, Roger Moret turned in the first complete game of his brief major league career and pitched the Red Sox to a 6-2 victory over the Angels. Smith singled to drive in one of two Red Sox runs in the first inning and homered with two men on base in the fourth. The Angels picked up their runs in the home half of the fourth on a double by Jim Fregosi and homer by Ken McMullen. [The Sporting News]
