Celebrating his return to the the lineup, Sal Bando hit a grand-slam homer and drove in another run with a single to pace the Athletics to a 10-6 victory over the Senators. Bando had missed three games because of an injury.

Rick Monday rapped a homer and two singles for the A's and batted in two runs. Del Unser and Don Mincher each drove in a pair for the Senators, Unser with a double in the second inning and Mincher with a homer in the fifth. [The Sporting News]
