Dave May, who collected four hits in a losing cause as the Brewers dropped the first game of a doubleheader, 3-2, came back with a triple and homer in the second game to help beat the Orioles, 4-1. Paul Blair and Brooks Robinson hit homers in the opener for the Orioles, who won the game in the ninth inning when Davey Johnson doubled, Mark Belanger and Curt Motton walked and Don Buford singled to score pinch-runner Tom Shopay.

In the nightcap, May hit his triple in the first inning when the Brewers scored two runs, and rapped his homer in the third. Singles by Bill Voss, Frank Tepedino and Paul Ratliff added a tally in the sixth. Buford homered for the Orioles' run. [The Sporting News]
