After rallying to tie the game with two runs in the ninth inning, the Twins scored on a sacrifice fly by Harmon Killebrew with the bases loaded in the 10th to defeat the White Sox, 4-3. An infield hit by Rich Reese, triple by Steve Braun and sacrifice fly by Jim Nettles gave the Twins their tying pair.

In the 10th, a walk to Danny Thompson, sacrifice by Cesar Tovar, single by Rod Carew and intentional pass to Tony Oliva preceded Killebrew's fly. Bob Gebhard, who pitched the last two innings, received credit for his first major league victory. [The Sporting News]
