. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Manager Danny Murtaugh called on three pinch-hitters and all came through successfully as the Pirates rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Phillies, 7-5. Deron Johnson and Oscar Gamble each drove in two runs as the Phillies built up an early 5-0 lead.

After the Pirates pulled within reach with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth, Jackie Hernandez walked to open the seventh and Bill Mazeroski delivered a pinch-single. Following a sacrifice by Rennie Stennett, Gene Clines appeared as a pinch-hitter and delivered a two-run double to tie the score. An intentional pass to Roberto Clemente and another walk to Willie Stargell loaded the bases. Al Oliver struck out, but Manny Sanguillen came off the bench and singled to drive in the winning runs.
