Utilityman Ike Brown, who started in left field for the Tigers, smashed a three-run homer to help the Tigers defeat the Indians, 4-3. Brown's smash followed a double by Bill Freehan and single by Norm Cash.

The Tigers added the deciding run in the sixth when Tony Taylor doubled and Freehan singled. Roy Foster and Kurt Bevacqua hit homers for the Indians. [The Sporting News]
