. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Dodgers scored eight runs in the second inning and breezed to a 9-2 victory over the Astros behind the pitching of Don Sutton. In the second, with one out, Jim Lefebvre walked and Tom Haller and Sutton singled to load the bases. Maury Wills forced Sutton as Lefebvre scored and when Joe Morgan threw wildly to first trying for a double play, Haller also crossed the plate.

A single by Bill Buckner and pass to Willie Davis filled the sacks again and Dick Allen batted in two runs with a single. After Denny Lemaster replaced Jack Billingham, singles by Wes Parker, Willie Crawford, Lefebvre and Haller each added a run before Buddy Harris took over and struck out Sutton. [The Sporting News]
