. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Orioles rallied for four runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Senators, 4-2, and bring Dave McNally his 11th straight victory and 17th of the season. Frank Howard homered after a single by Toby Harrah to produce the Senators' runs in the first.

The Orioles were held by Pete Broberg until the eighth when a pinch-single by Tom Shopay, double by Merv Rettenmund and two-out single by Frank Robinson tied the score. Robinson took second on the throw to the plate. After an intentional pass to Andy Etchebarren, Brooks Robinson doubled to drive in the winning runs. [The Sporting News]
