Clyde Wright recovered from a shaky start and pitched the Angels to a 6-2 victory over the Brewers. Three singles, together with a sacrifice fly, produced the Brewers' runs in the first inning.

The Angels tied the score in the fourth on singles by Mickey Rivers and Ken McMullen, a balk and a single by Tony Gonzalez. John Stephenson singled in the fifth and when Wright bunted, Jim Slaton threw wildly to second. Stephenson scored the tie-breaking run on a single by Rivers. [The Sporting News]
