Two homers -- one by Steve Brye in the second inning and the other by George Mitterwald with two out in the ninth -- gave the Twins a 2-1 victory over Vida Blue to complete the sweep of a twi-night doubleheader after a grand slam by Harmon Killebrew as a pinch-hitter helped beat the Athletics, 9-4. Eric Soderholm, playing in his first major league game, homered for the Twins in the fourth inning of the lidlifter. Gene Tenace connected for the A's in the sixth to tie the score at 4-4. In the Twins' half, Brye walked, Steve Braun doubled and Soderholm was handed an intentional pass to load the bases. After Mudcat Grant relieved Diego Segui, Killebrew batted for Phil Roof and came through with his jackpot wallop.
